Short project description:
Children will have the opportunity to learn
from each other in a cross curriculum way.
The Information and Communication
Technologies will be used to search for
information and to share and spread the
achieved knowledge on various topics of
their interest such as Visual Arts, Theatre,
Music and Dance.

Work process:

Brain-storming
with children’s group (choose and share
how to do things and what to do);

with the partner school trough the
Internet using: e-mail, chat, and
videoconferencing;

Completed
activities:

- We introduced
ourselves through a Word file with
all our pupils and teachers’ photos.
-
- We exchanged a CD
with a PPT file made in
cooperation with our pupils,
presenting our school, the around
area, some local music, and some
examples of our schoolwork made by
the kids.
-
- We had 4 chat
meetings as well as two
Video-conferences, one with teachers
and one with pupils using the Yahoo
Messenger and our Twinspace.
-
- We regularly use our
Twinspace calendar entering the
progress of our project .
-
- As a result, some
other ideas for activities came up
from pupils and teachers and we have
started to work on them :
a./ A
Portuguese-Greek Phrase booklet with
some words and short expressions kids
suggested and had shown interest to
learn. We have agreed to work on
this topic once a week.
b./ An
ARTseasons’ project : 4 various art
contributions by each school,
concerning the 4 seasons of the
exchange year will be ready at the end
of May 2006 and we will upload them at
the project website and on our Twinspace.
c./
A regular exchange of handicrafts pieces
and other constructions by the pupils.

Planned Activities:
During the
second term (Dec
–Jan -Feb)
· ART
at school…
1.
Choose a topic (Winter, Carnival….) and
create a multi-material construction for
it. This will be sent by normal post to
the other school.
2.
Choose a ‘Winter-tree” from our/your
neighbourhood and take a picture of it…
name it… describe it… create a document
and we will send it by e-mail to the
other school.
·
Create and exchange an audio
tape or a video (in a CD) with some songs,
rhymes, greetings in each mother language.
·
Send a traditional story
(only words) to the other school that will
illustrate it. Teachers will put both
stories together, building a common story
book.
·
Make cooperative drawings
using the board of MSN – groups of 2
children from each country will share online
the MSN board making a drawing together.
Completed
activities:

We have worked on the Phrase booklet
more often and pupils shown their
interest in this procedure.
- We exchanged songs in
Greek and Portuguese and pupils have
successfully sang in their partners
language
- We made a PPT file for
learning the numbers 1-10 and with
recorded the matching words

During the
third term
(Mar-Apr- May)

Drama
at school…
-
Draw
pictures, take photos of local monuments
and other interesting places and
exchange them.

Choose a theme
from each school’s work and
animate it (a story created by the
pupils or a fairy
tale or a myth ..) we will videotape
it with a digital camera, store it
in a CD and send it by post to
the other school.
-
Take a picture of the
same tree - ‘Spring-tree’ now, and
follow the same above procedure.
-
Design stamps for places
from the other country, that have seen
in the photos we received.
Completed
activities:
- We enriched the
final “Number’s game 1-10” showing
the number’s plurality with digital
drawings – words and sounds.
-
We made the “Butterfly’s colours”
… another game concerning some
colours pupils suggested . They drew
this was accompanied with sounds
recorded in both languages.
- We worked on the
Art-season project throughout the
year. We also added short texts
and photos explaining the procedure
each partner has followed for
making the final 4 - Art
contributions.
- Zoo: Both schools
made visits to the Zoo, so we
decided to work on this topic
making a Book including 14 animals
we liked.
- With the best
collaboration Maria Jose has
uploaded all the ‘materials’ both
schools have made from the
beginning of this e-Twinning action

The final outcome
A website presenting all
the pupils and teacher’s interactive
educational procedure will follow this
year. Cds with pupils video scoped
activities in their school life and a
booklet with all the pupils activities
for the parents.

teachers developed an excellent

At Pupils’ level:

Pupils realized
similarities and differences they
have with their e-twinning class.

The made first
contact with a multi – selective
school and they explored ideas
around identity, culture and
racism. (in both schools were kids
from Africa and Albania)

They shared common
experiences creating various
educational materials (they made a
number’s game, a colour’s game, a
book about the Zoo)
-
They got an
interesting reason to work further
from their daily class, more
flexibly and creatively . At the
same time all the chosen activities
were well done adapted in our
school programme and aims.
-
Pupils improved their
skills in both languages, Greek
–Portuguese, learning words ,
phrases, songs.
-
They enjoyed learning
in a such a way.
At the local society:
-
The parents were
enthusiasm to be involved in this
project, (we held school fests
about this) asking for more
involvement and help
-
The realized the
positive outcome and impact on
their kids

Dissemination:

The whole work is
uploaded on the Internet

Both teachers
participated in national e-twinning
workshops where they presented the
concept of this collaboration
-
Both schools made a
brochure concerning the e-twinning
for a wider dissemination in the
local area further a field.

Follow Up:
The Greek teacher visited
the Portuguese school in order to
meet in person teachers and pupils.
A new plan has been
discussed for a further and wider
collaboration for the next years.
